Steam download mods slow arma 3

It is quite a different product from ModDB.com, which proudly supports mods for every game. mod.io will only support games that integrate the API and automate the process of installing mods.

I subscribe to content on Steam, launch Arma 3 but the addons/mods I subscribed to are nowhere to be found. Not in the expansion menu, not in my Arma 3 Steam folder I can not even find a thing seaching my entire PC. I started Arma 3 hoping starting it would add subscribed content but it seems that too is not the trick?
